Misheard is licensed, not sold, under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to this app in full. The notes below describe how the app works and set expectations; where anything here conflicts with Apple's agreement, Apple's agreement governs.
What the app does
Misheard records short takes of your speech, runs them through Apple's speech recognition, and shows you the text that came back. It scores that text against the word you were asked to say, and offers suggestions about what to change.
What it does not do
Misheard does not change iOS dictation. No third-party app can: the keyboard's recognizer is not reachable by other apps. Misheard shows you what recognition produced and helps you adapt to it. It does not modify the behaviour of dictation in Messages, Mail, or anywhere else on your phone.
Coaching suggestions are suggestions
When a word is misrecognized, Misheard infers what may have gone wrong from the word that came back and offers a suggestion. This is inference from text, not clinical analysis of your voice, and it can be wrong. Misheard is not a medical device and does not provide speech therapy, diagnosis or treatment. If you have concerns about your speech, talk to a qualified speech-language professional.
Accuracy scores
Scores reflect what Apple's speech recognition produced on your device, in your environment, on that occasion. Results vary with device, microphone, accent, background noise and surrounding words. A score is a measurement of one recognizer at one moment, not a judgement of how well you speak.
Purchases
Misheard Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase — not a subscription and not a recurring charge. It unlocks the paid features on any device signed in to the same Apple Account, and can be restored from Settings. Purchases are processed by Apple; refunds are handled by Apple under their terms, not by us.
Your content
The words, recordings and history you create belong to you and stay on your device. We have no copy and no access. It is your responsibility to keep anything you would be sorry to lose — deleting the app deletes all of it, and there is no backup on our side to restore from.
Availability
The app is provided as it is. We may change or discontinue features in future versions. Because Misheard runs entirely on your device, a version already installed keeps working whether or not it is updated.
